We've come to the part of toddler hood and child rearing that I've feared the most... potty training. I have been dreading it and putting it off as long as possible, but apparently I'm the only person who thinks it's socially acceptable for a 32-month old to still be wearing Huggies.
So, give me all your advice. What worked, what didn't, what you wish you'd done differently, how seriously you contemplated giving your kid a swirly whirly after cleaning up the two hundredth accident for that day. All I have in my arsenal is a whole boatload of anxiety. Tomorrow we will venture out for the Elmo potty seat, big boy underwear, and a refill on my Xanax prescription.
Brody and I were waiting in line at Costco today, and he would not hold still in the cart! He was making me crazy- fidgeting, trying to climb out, squirming around, but it was too crowded to let him out. Finally I asked, "Brody, what on earth is wrong?"
To which he replied, plain as day, "Mama, I POOPED!"
No, your eyes do not deceive you. Brody wants to have two dogs when he goes to bed at night. They're identical- I purchased the second one about a year ago so we'd have a back up in case of emergency.
Brody spent some time with just ONE of the dogs up at his grandparents, and I thought I'd broken him of the habit, but no such luck. When he came home, he spied him on the closet shelf and wanted him immediately.
