Oh my GOODNESS! That is so scary. I am so happy that all 3 of you are ok.

Kristy

I'm glad you are all okay! That just reinforces my belief that glass doors are not the way to go...

Sue

Oh that is scary. You poor thing. So glad you scared them off. Go get that alarm system!!

Ninotchka

GEEZ! I'm glad you're safe. Labs are great with kids and they look big and scary. Charlie will bark when he sees anything suspicious outside and I encourage it. Keep the riff-raff away.

Jenn

Wow -- that's scary -- I would have freaked. Are you sleeping now? I agree about the security system. Mine gives me SUCH peace of mind.

Bev

I am so sorry that happened to you! Like another poster, that is one of my worst fears. When my dad was traveling for work, we got a female German Shepard. She was fantastic with us, I was only 3 when they got her, and she was a VERY good watch dog. When we moved out of my childhood home, the women who bought our house got burglarized and more than once. I can't help but think that our dog was the reason we never had a break-in.

Candace

Nice. Some people are a**holes.

Stephanie

OMG - I am glad you are all ok! Scary.

Jenni

Kate,
How scary! Even though you don't have a dog (yet) put up Beware of Dog Signs near your doors to deter people from breaking in. I have no idea what breeds are good. Good Luck.

Becca

HOLY COW!!! Glad you are ok!!!

Good old Supermouth saved the day!! (kidding lol) but I am glad you scared them away!! Did they think they would not wake anyone up with that? Teenagers? Dumb people?

Thankful you are safe!

Jen_Jakesmom

oh wow. that SO SUCKS. have you thought about a home security system? The kind that have crazy loud alarms? Also, I was thinking the other day (since we don't have one yet) that if someone tries to break into my house, I'm going to enable my car alarm from the button on my keys (it works from in my house, Jake has set it off before) to draw attention.

I'm so sorry you went through that, hon.

Amanda Case

OMG Kate! I don't even know what to say besides I'm glad they didn't get in. I don't really have any recommendations for a dog. We don't have one anymore, but we have other means of protection in the house. Your post is one of my TOP worst fears. I simply can't imagine what that felt like.

cat, galloping

oh my gosh, that's terrifying! don't know about the dog... how about an alarm system?

Magnolia Mom

That is SO scary! I'm glad every one is ok. Sending prayers your way.
