Dear Peanut,
Today you are 9 months old! I can't believe it. Where has the time gone? Nine months seemed like forever when I was pregnant with you, but the nine months since your birth have gone by in the blink of an eye.
You're hardly a "peanut" anymore. The day you had surgery you weighed in at just over 22 lbs and measured 30" long. You're not as chubby as you were- you're thinning out as you get taller and move around more.
You are a champ at sitting up, and can army crawl like a true Ranger. You know how to hold your own bottle, although you won't do it when I'm around. That's okay, I don't mind holding it for you. It's basically the only time you'll let me hold you. You're so curious about your surroundings- you're way too busy to just cuddle with me. You love bath time- especially right before we put you in the bath- we let you "dance" naked in front of the bathroom mirror. You giggle and squeal and fling slobber all over the place. Daddy sings "Don't Cha" by the Pussycat Dolls while you show us your moves. Once you're in the bath, you love to splash and get me wet.
You just about eat us out of house and home. You drink a quart of formula and 8 ounces of juice a day, in addition to 4-6 jars of baby food! You love fruit- especially bananas and pears. You hate every vegetable except for peas, and you refuse to eat any baby food that has meat in it.
Other things you hate: being lotioned after your bath; having your hair combed; putting your arms into sleeves; taking an afternoon nap; and shopping (you must get that from your father.)
You do love your sleep- we put you to bed around 7:00 p.m. and you sleep 11-12 hours without so much as stirring. You also like your morning nap- you'll usually sleep for two hours.
Peanut, I can't even begin to tell you what a blessing it is to have you in our lives. Daddy and I can't even remember what life was like before you. It couldn't hold a candle to our life now as a family. You are proof that miracles happen and dreams do come true. We love you more than anything. We can't wait to see what comes next!
Love,
Mommy
(Sorry it's blurry... it's impossible to get him to hold still these days!)
